Process Engineer

We are looking for a process engineer who will be responsible for the development and support of formulations for unshaped refractories — ramming and gunning masses, refractory castables, heat-insulating and slag-forming mixtures — for metallurgical plants and foundry production facilities.

About the role

You will work at the interface between our own accredited laboratory and the production area: from the laboratory development of a composition to its rollout into series production and support at the customer’s site. The role involves close cooperation with the quality department, production and the customers’ technical specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Development and adjustment of formulations for unshaped refractory materials for the customer’s specific units and temperature regimes.
  • Preparation and performance of laboratory tests, analysis of results, drawing up test reports.
  • Process support of series production: incoming inspection of raw materials, monitoring of process parameters, handling of deviations.
  • Development and updating of process charts, instructions and other regulatory documentation.
  • Participation in visits to customers’ plants: installation supervision, collection of data on the material’s performance in service, investigation of claims.
  • Cooperation with the sales department in preparing the technical part of commercial offers.

Requirements

  • Education: higher technical — chemical technology of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials, metallurgy or a related field.
  • Experience: from 2 years in refractory production, in metallurgy or in a plant laboratory.
  • Understanding of how refractories perform in service in steelmaking and foundry units.
  • Confident command of laboratory testing methods and the ability to interpret results.
  • Knowledge of the current standards for refractory materials.
  • Readiness for business trips within Ukraine (approximately up to 20% of working time).
  • Ukrainian — fluent; English at a level sufficient for reading technical documentation will be an advantage.

What we offer

  • Official employment from day one and a fully declared salary.
  • Work in our own accredited laboratory with modern equipment.
  • A real impact on the product: your formulations go into series production, rather than remaining on paper.
  • Training and participation in industry conferences at the company’s expense.
  • Reimbursement of business trip expenses and a corporate mobile connection.
  • A stable company with over 10 years of history and ISO 9001:2015 certification.
